Celebrating 35 years sober at Yankee Stadium Bronx New York
The New York Yankee way, hell yesss! I was born in San Francisco and my grandfather James O'Rourke was my safety and my guide and a died in the Irish wool hardcore San Francisco Giants fan whom I made a promise to in 1988 that I would never again drink, so if one finds oneself in New York in Baseball Yankee territory then honor the memory of the best grandpa in the world with a once in a lifetime celebration of thirty five years sobriety by going to Yankee Stadium in The Bronx and singing New York, New York, New York

Losing my Religion at Yankee Stadium

35 years sober, on a Thursday in New York, and what to do to make the date memorable?

Welcome to The Bronx!

I grew up watching the San Francisco 49er's and thinking football was my religion, but with age and maturity? Shit changes.

When you're actually inside the stadium? It's like the ghosts of baseball games past that touch you.

Having been dragged to SF Giants Games with my ex husband Michael Falk, who grew up in New York (and Florida) but who never got over a ball he dropped from Willie Mays? I felt nothing but good vibes for my 35th year birthday of sobriety.

Thank you very much, but I will pass on the #WhitePrivilege baseball game and be like anyone else in the park. If you can afford season tickets in a concierge section? You've got too much money. Give some away - lol

It's true, screenshots don't get you in, just $40 for the night of your life.

If you've attended a 12 step meeting, ever? You know that the message is to be of service, and so why not do the Yankee doodle kind thing and snap a picture of a family enjoying a Baseball game?

Standing up and doing the right thing? On any given day? Pays well in good vibes.
Hashtag that Winning!!

And by buying my tickets at the gate? I saved on the Stub Hub fees and got to take home a program and read all about a local Harrison Bader, who dreamed of putting on the stripes, and heck, getting to watch him steal second and make a score against the Houston Astro's on my 35th? Umm Hell yess!

A Man on a mission in New York? Hey So is Shannon Falk!!

Isn't everyone entitle to a little fun? Even if it's not your 35th anniversary?
For me? August 3rd is a reminder I made to my Grandpa Jim, and that was 35 years ago. He loved baseball, and he loved me so I suppose when he said promise you'll never drink again? Done

Grandpa Jim might not have been with me at Babe Ruth Plaza in the physical, but I'm all about the metaphysical anyway.

To everyone else in the Stadium? Who knows what they made of it, but to me?
