Isabella Hot Springs Drop Out Christmas Cali Style
Isabella Hot Springs located in the South of California is where I chose to celebrate Christmas or as I have been doing since I drove away from my marriage December 25, 2005 I know that Christmas is nothing more than an American marketing opportunity to promote faux images of happy families and my family? They are about as fake and phony as they come and so I don't participate in the bullshit I go to places where I can find true connection with real people of all faiths and colors and creeds with one thing in common they are authentic and if you want a "real" Christmas I can't think of a place in California that is more representative of a group of perfect strangers who will accept you as you are and even love your little dog Gigi. There is something very spiritual about communing in nature on a day when most people are caught up with gift giving I was having a day of free gift of receiving acceptance and love and isn't that the supposed point of the holiday anyway? If you want a real Christmas go to Isabella Hot Springs and you'll find yourself with like minded free spirits.

If you're committed to "staying gone? Then dropping out of Christmas is a must. No more hokey holly jolly faux celebrations, just a real enjoyment that comes from embracing all the gifts that come from the "source" you know Mother Nature herself. She's so much more than Father Christmas. 2020 was a multicultural immersion experience which I will never forget. Check that off the list.
In the Sequoia National Forest is a One of a kind Hot Spring on the banks of the Kern River where you can vibe with all types.

If you want your pick of seats? My recommendation is to drive down to the trailhead on Christmas Eve, and give yourself the ultimate Christmas Day, and no, thankfully it won't be white. You're in SoCal, and you might not be able to count on the sun, but you can expect a Christmas without snow...Yipee! Make your way down after you catch the sunrise and you'll be the one who's got their choice of seats. It's California. Remember clothing in the hot springs? Optional, and most folks opt out, so I guess I was lucky on Christmas to get a spring half filled with modest folks, and some of whom acted as docents for the springs, as they had hand laid tiles and picked up the trash, and so definitely follow the etiquette of the Hot Springs and remember what you pack down? Pack out, and it shouldn't just be a Christmas thing, but definitely share. That's a gift that the world can use 365 days a year :) Remember that you're holiday will be shared with perfect strangers, and if you've got a family like mine? That's actually a second gift, and so embrace all cultures that meet, and whatever you bring to the party? Sharing only makes a more interesting day: imagine my the delight watching my Japanese "Sister" smile from the sweet & sour flavor of Mexican Ollitos. It's the gift that keeps on giving. The memories you make while "staying gone"
