Twelve Mile Hot Springs Nevada
Hot springs are a thing with me. After my nephew's suicide I found myself for a solid month crying and soaking away my sorrow in NorCal's Hunt & Kosk Hot Springs, and had renamed the third magic hidden pool "Gabriel's Spring" and so when I hit the road East? What was more natural than to look to nature's gift in Nevada. It was remote according to the map, and the Falcon Guide I carried with me on Hot Springs, but I followed the directions past a ghost town in Wells Nevada to a desert oasis: 12 Mile Hot Springs.

Dare to drive the backroad...
Along the drive up the remote dirt road I crossed cattle fields, and even crossed paths with a rattlesnake, which for me? Hey I was born in 1965: year of the snake. I was on the right road. When I arrived over an old railroad trestle bridge and crossed over to what were the remnants of a miners camp and a the largest hot spring pool I have ever had the pleasure of dipping in? Wow, just wow. The tiled pool in Paris's 5 Star L'Hotel couldn't compare to what nature offered me in the Nevada Desert free of charge?!

12 Miles outside of Wells Nevada, past ghost towns, over some cattle grates, and up a remote stretch of dirt road which passes the occasional rattlesnake find yourself at the corner of lost & Found an Oasis for those who dare...

Camping is permitted at the hot springs in one's car or van, but be safe. I lucked out when as a woman that I wasn't alone, and in fact? What are the odds that one of the two other people at 12 mile happened to be a psychologist who specialized in grief? Talk about coincidence? I was able to talk about my painful loss in the beauty of nature.
Twelve Mile Hot Springs Wells Nevada
Best Hot Springs in Nevada is quite some drive from remote Wells Nevada but oh so worth it when you reach the old mining camp with the hugest hot spring I have ever dipped into this spot is nestled on the banks of the stunning Humboldt River along Bishop Creek Canyon and though it is a primitive site that makes it all the better because it's not commercial or overcrowded and a great place to dirt bag vagabond for a night or two and if you're lucky you'll meet like minded people that are as healing as the waters.
